Express vs. Sounds 6/27/12

Martin Perez: Perez, who was recently called up to Texas from the E-Train, is entering the game for his MLB debut.

In Other News: In other news around baseball, the Rangers’ David Murphy and the Mets’ Daniel Murphy each clubbed two HR tonight. Two players with names D. Murphy hit two home runs apiece on the same night. Crazy.

EPW Update: Spilborghs has two walks, Butler has not reached, and Heilman will not see the field tonight. Rough night all around.

Fabio Castillo: Castillo makes his first appearance as a member of the Express.

Tonight’s Attendance: Much like the result of both of Brad Nelson’s last to ABs… 6363 (6-3, 6-3)

Bobby: Express skipper Bobby Jones gets tossed after arguing a very controversial Nashville HR in the top of the seventh inning.

Early Exit: Nashville pitcher Wily Peralta leaves the game with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning with an injury.

EPW Update: Spilly and JB-Smooth both ground out to end the inning (Spilborghs in the 3rd and Butler in the 4th). Heilman still yet to make an appearance.

Holland Update: In the third inning, Derek surrenders a solo HR for the first run of the game, and also picks off a runner at first base.

- Holland’s night is done after three innings of work, and only 39 pitches. Ross Wolf is coming in to relieve

– Final Line: 3 IP, 3 H, 1 K, 2 BB, 39 pitches (24 strikes), 1 HR allowed, 1 R

Player-to-Watch Update: Butler strikes out in his first plate appearance and Spilborghs walked in his. Heilman has not seen action yet tonight.

Holland Update: He gets through his second inning relatively smoothly despite a lead off walk, thanks to a strike ‘em out/throw ‘em out double play. Holland has thrown 24 pitches through two innings.

Borbon: Julio brings his 0-29 slump to a halt in his first at bat with a single to CF.

Holland Update: Holland gets through the first inning relatively smoothly, allowing one single but not allowing any other runners.
