Final:  Joey Butler doubled with two outs in the ninth, but that was the last gasp for the Express. Nelson struck out to end the game. Oklahoma City takes the opener 5-4.

Costly Error:  Willie Eyre’s throwing error in the eighth leads to three unearned runs. Oklahoma City takes a 5-4 lead with a four-run inning.

38 Special, Redux:  Chad Bell finishes the third inning with 38 pitches – matching his mound counterpart’s first-inning total. Express lead 2-0 heading to the bottom of the third inning.

38 Special:  Oklahoma City starter Jose Cisnero labors through a 38-pitch bottom of the first that lasts more than 20 minutes. Matt Kata gets a sacrifice fly, pushing E-Train lead to 2-0.

Nelson’s Eleven:  Brad Nelson’s first-inning single halts his 0-for-11 skid and gives the Express a 1-0 lead.

Hits Just Keep On Coming:  Luis Hernandez extends his hitting streak to 14 games with a first-inning infield single. He is 29-for-61 during the streak.
